Hello Students, In this blog post I am going to share with you SEBA English Grammar Correct Tense for Class 10 HSLC& Question Bank 2020. Correct the following sentences by using the correct tense-form of the verbs given in brackets:

SEBA HSLC 10th Examination – 1998

1.                1.    when he entered my room, I – ( Write)  a letter.

        Answer: When he entered my room, I was writing a letter.

2.                 2.    The match (start) before we reached the field.

        Answer: The match had started before we reached the field.

3.                 3.    It is time you ( go) home.

        Answer: It is you went home.

SEBA HSLC 10th Examination– 1999

1.                1.      we  shall wait here until he ( come ) back.

         Answer: We shall wait here until he will come back.

2.              2.       When he come in, I ( write ) a letter.

          Answer: When he come in I was writing a letter.

SEBA HSLC 10th Examination– 2000

1.                1.    He ( walk) across the road when a scooter hit him.

           Answer: He was walking across the road when a scooter hit him.

2.               2.     I wish I ( accept ) the job.

        Answer: I wish  I accepted the job.

3.               3.    Hurry up, the taxy ( wait).

       Answer: Hurry up, the Taxi Is waiting.

SEBA HSLC 10th Examination –2001

1. They ( live) In Delhi for ten years.

    Answer: They have been living in Delhi for ten years.

2.  She died after she ( suffer) for ten years.

    Answer: She died after she had suffered for ten years.

3.  Ten Years ( Pass) Since I met you last.

    Answer: Ten years have passed since I met you last.

 4.  When he come in, it ( be ) all over.

     Answer: When he come in, it was all over.
5.    He ( stay) here until you return.

    Answer: He will Stay here until you return.

SEBA HSLC 10th Examination - 2002 

1.   When he started for office, it still ( rain) 

Answer: When he started for office, it was  still raining.

2.   I ( not meet) my friend for ages.

     Answer: I have not met my friends for ages.

3,   If you ( request ) him he would have helped you.

    Answer: If you requested him, he would have helped you.

4.   She ( work ) In this school since 1090.

     Answer: She has been working in this school since1990.

5.   We two ( be) friends for long.

      Answer: We two have been friends for long.

SEBA HSLC 10th Examination - 2003 

1.    We ...... each other for the last ten years. ( know)

      Answer: We have known each other for the last ten years.

2.     If I ........ his address , I would have contracted him.( know)

      Answer: If I knew his address, I would have contracted him.

3.     Look, there ...... the bus .( go)

      Answer: Look, there goes the bus.

         Answer: If I were you, I should not accept that post.

1.       I hurried back to the room.......(feel) very nervous, for it is much easier .......(steal) something than to return it undetected. I .......(open) the door quietly, then ......         Answer: The new teacher has been teaching us for six months.

2. Mohan ..... home before it started raining. ( reach)

         Answer: Mohan had reached home before it started raining.

3.       He told us that he never ....... a lie. ( tell) 

         Answer: He told us that he had never told a lie.

Our teacher ...... to London last year. ( go) 

          Answer: Our teacher went to London last year.

2.       John ....... ( write ) a number of short stories.

         Answer: John has written a number of short stories.

3.        we should never ....... a lie( tell) 

        Answer: We should never tell a lie.

SEBA HSLC 10th Examination- 2009

1. The lady slipped while she ( climb) the steps.

    Answer: The lady slipped while she was climbing the steps.

2.    We shall wait here until he ( come ) back.

      Answer: We shall wait here until he comes back.

3.     He talks as if he ( know ) everything.

      Answer: He talks as if he knew everything.

SEBA HSLC 10th Examination 2010.

1.     He jumped off the bus while it ( move)

       Answer: He jumped off the bus while it was moving.

2.      He said that he .... the  letter. ( post) 

        Answer: He said that he posted the letter.

3.       He ...... a teacher since 1994. ( be) 

        Answer: He has been a teacher since 1994.

1. We (Know) Each Other for the last five years.

         Answer: We have known each other for the last five years.

2.       The other day I met a magician in the bazaar.

       Answer: The other day I met a magician in the bazaar.

     Answer: She said that she would help her friend.

2. The boys ( play ) in the ground when the tree fell down.
